Calhoun's BP Calhoun's BP Left home after a nice breakfast at Bob Evans. Headed south and almost immediately picked up another big, bald biker on a Harley. Rode with him through the Blue Ridge mountains, stopping for lunch at Calhoun’s in Harrisonburg. He took off after lunch, and I rode on to Queen City Brewery in Staunton. Very cool place! Brew-your-own and micro-brew to go in the same place. Kept riding south on 81 (through light drizzle) to Roanoke. Found a very cool Thai restaurant with 2 live bands, including Tom Principato. Had a wonderful evening!

Got up, listened to some music, and headed out. Weather wasn’t great, but made it to a very nice brewpub in Hickory, NC called Amos&Howards, after the middle names of the owners. Had a good time at their Cinco de Mayo Party before finding a dive hotel (only slightly better than the ones they warned me off of next to the Pub). Got up and headed out around 9:30. Got to Greenville around 11:30 and had a great brunch outside at the Blue Ridge Brewing Co. The sun finally began to come out! Tooled around Greenville a bit, visiting the beautiful Falls park. Greenville Water Falls

Rode on to Atlanta and the Five Seasons Brew Pub, a rather up-scale establishment with good beers. Moved on to Rock Bottom Brewery for lunch.

Made the 100 mile dash to Columbus, Ga. and the Cannon Brewery. This was my kind of place! Pretty nice downtown area and very friendly staff at the Cannon. Cannon Brew Pub Cannon Brew Pub Split a pizza with Ryan, the head chef, and Josh, the bartender blew off my bill (and I had many good beers!). Closed the place down (and then some). Went over to Phoenix City, Al. to find a cheap hotel, and the dive I ended up in wasn’t even worth the $25 I paid. Way below even my standards, but I was too tired to go elsewhere.
